Maruti Suzuki Ertiga recently got an update in the country. The new model of the MPV comes with a slightly better design, some new features and a new generation K-series engine. Compared to the old Ertiga, the new one is more powerful and fuel efficient.

The price of the new 2022 Maruti Ertiga starts from Rs 8.35 lakh and goes up to Rs 12.79 lakh. This price is ex showroom. While its automatic variant costs between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 12.79 lakh, the CNG model is priced between Rs 10.44 lakh and Rs 11.54 lakh. New-Gen K-Series Engine
The biggest update comes in the form of the next-gen 1.5L petrol engine, which is claimed to offer “refined driving experience with improved NVH (Nice, Vibration and Harshness) and lower emissions”. New Dualjet Gasoline Unit It gets two injectors per cylinder which gives more control over fuel injection. It also gets start-stop technology which helps in increasing its fuel efficiency. The new petrol engine produces 103bhp of peak power at 6,000rpm and 136.8Nm at 4,400rpm. generates torque.

The new Maruti Ertiga 2022 is also made available with a factory fitted CNG kit with a 1.5-litre DualJet petrol engine. The MPV makes 100 Bhp of power with 136 Nm of torque when running on petrol mode and 87 Bhp of power with 121.5 Nm when running on CNG mode.

New Automatic Gearbox
All variants of the new Ertiga come with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The old 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission has been replaced with a new 6-speed automatic unit that comes with paddle shifters.

High On Mileage
Compared to the old version, the new 2022 Maruti Ertiga offers higher mileage. Its manual variant is claimed to offer 20.51kmpl, while the automatic model is claimed to offer 20.30kmpl. The new Maruti Ertiga CNG is capable of doing 26.11 km/kg.

Minor Design Changes
The MPV gets minor cosmetic changes, the updated model gets a redesigned front grille with ‘winged’ chrome trim, new dual-tone alloy wheels and a tailgate with chrome garnish.

2 New Colours
The updated model lineup of the Ertiga has been introduced in two new color schemes – Dignity Brown and Splendid Silver.

Premium Interior
The interiors have been updated with a new metallic teak wooden finish and a sculpted dashboard with dual-tone seat fabric. The MPV gets a new 7-inch SmartPlay Pro infotainment system with onboard voice assistant (activated with the “Hi Suzuki” command) and smartphone connectivity. More than 40 features have been provided for in-built Suzuki Connect vehicle safety and security, status alert, trip and driving behavior and remote operation.

The new model is a compatible smartwatch from Suzuki Connect and can be accessed remotely with voice connectivity. The list of features includes auto headlamps with follow me home functionality, driver side auto window up with anti-pinch, cruise control, retractable key-operated ORVMs and many more.

More Safety Features
Maruti Suzuki has equipped the new Ertiga with 4 airbags, hill hold assist and Electronic Stability Program (ESP). Standard safety kit includes rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD and brake assist, dual front airbags, speed alert system, second row ISOFIX child seat anchorage and driver and co-driver seatbelt reminders.
