New Delhi: Not everyone is destined to live in a village separate from the world. India is making its mark in the world in many things. Similarly some villages of India have also made their name in the whole world. In fact, three villages in India have been nominated for the United Nations World Tourism Organization Award (United Nations World Tourism Organization Award, UNWTA).
According to reports, Ladhpura Khas (Ladpura Khas village) in Madhya Pradesh as well as Pochampally (Pochampally village) in Telangana, Kongthong village (Kongthong village) of Meghalaya (Meghalaya) have been nominated for UNWTA. State CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed happiness over Madhya Pradesh’s Ladhpura Khas being nominated in UNWTA. He tweeted that it is a matter of pride for us to enter the best tourism village of Ladhpura Khas village in Madhya Pradesh. My best wishes to the entire team of Madhya Pradesh tourism and administration for this achievement of Ladhpura village. You keep doing better like this.’
Let us tell you that Ladhpur Khas village comes under Orchha tehsil of Tikamgarh district. Shiv Shekhar Shukla, Chief Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department of Madhya Pradesh said that under the Rural Tourism Scheme, about 100 villages would be developed for rural tourism in the next five years.
