Mumbai. A 4-year-old child was forcibly tested for COVID-19 at the airport in Karnataka. Surprisingly, the boy’s father kept on pleading for the guidelines of the Ministry of Health in front of the employees of the airlines, but he was not listened to. For your information, let us tell you that this case is about Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. It is being told that this child and his parents had United States passports. The child was forcibly asked for a Kovid-19 test before departure. This Indian-origin family living in the US was preparing to go to Port Blair to spend the holidays.
What are the guidelines
According to the guidelines of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, let us tell you that children below the age of 5 years are exempted from pre-departure or post-arrival Kovid-19 (Covid-19) test. Forcing a 4-year-old child to undergo a test for Kovid-19 is in violation of the guidelines of the Ministry. It seems as if the employees of the airlines are not fully aware of the guidelines of the government.
Rajdeep Ganguly said in a conversation with the media, ‘I told the staff of the airlines that in the protocols issued by the Union Health Ministry, children of 5 years are exempted from RT-PCR test. But he refused to even listen to me. He rudely said that only if your son’s test report comes negative, then you will be allowed to board the flight.
