‘Konda’ is by far the most extraordinary story in my cinematic history: Director Ram Gopal Varma

Based on the life story of Konda Murali and Konda Surekha from Warangal, director Ram Gopal Varma, producer K Malla Reddy and Naveen Reddy produced a film titled “Konda” under the banner of Yo Yo Talkies. The film got off to a great start in Vanchanagiri, Konda Murali’s hometown in Warangal. The people of Warangal celebrated the opening of the film and welcomed the Muhurta scene with enthusiasm.

Speaking on the occasion, Ram Gopal Varma said, “I was born and brought up in Hyderabad, educated in Vijayawada. I love the history of Konda Murali. It is said that humans are not human beings. Special in special circumstances. Human beings. The circumstances of one’s birth and upbringing have an effect on the collective mind and then the courage they possess, some of them who dare to fight for good and justice, while the rest are slaves.

“Konda” is by far the most extraordinary story in my cinematic history. I am making this film universal so that Konda is not restricted to Telangana only. I promise you that you have never seen a movie like Konda in your life till now.” Konda Surekha said, “Murali was a person who sold tomatoes in Warangal market. Such a person grew up as a politician without any support. We all know that he has grown with his popularity. It takes courage to do a biopic.”
