Kolkata beat Rajasthan, strengthens its claim for fourth place

In the 54th match of IPL 2021, Kolkata defeated Rajasthan by 86 runs. With this win, KKR’s team strengthened its claim for the fourth place. Batting first after losing the toss, KKR scored 171 runs for the loss of four wickets. In reply, Rajasthan were all out for 85. For Kolkata, Shivam Mavi took four and Lockie Ferguson took two wickets.

With this win, Kolkata has 14 points in the points table. The net run rate of KKR is +0.587. Talking about the match, KKR got off to a good start by batting first. Shubman Gill (56) and Venkatesh Iyer (38) shared a 79-run partnership for the first wicket. Apart from this, Eoin Morgan (13) and Dinesh Karthik (14) returned unbeaten.

Chasing the same Kolkata target, Rajasthan started poorly. Sanju Samson’s team was shattered like a card in front of the Kolkata bowlers. They had lost two wickets for one run and half Rajasthan had returned to the pavilion within 35 runs. Rahul Tewatia played a big innings of 44 runs for Rajasthan. For Kolkata, apart from Mavi and Ferguson, Shakib and Chakraborty took one wicket each.
