New Delhi: India has reported 12,516 new cases of Novel Coronavirus in the last 24 hours, which includes 501 deaths as a result of the infection. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Friday, 13,155 people were discharged in the country in the last 24 hours, taking the overall recovery rate to around 98.25 per cent, the highest since March 2020, and the total recovery data of 3, 38,14,080.
According to ministry data, the number of current COVID-19 cases in India has come down to 1,37,416, the lowest in 267 days. The total death toll in the country today is 4,62,690. The first death from the COVID pandemic in India was recorded in March 2020.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the state of Kerala reported 7,224 new coronavirus infections and 419 deaths, taking the total number of cases to 50,42,082 and the death toll to 35,040. According to an official press release, 7,638 more persons have recovered from the virus since Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 49,36,791 and the number of active cases to 69,625.
