Hitman became the new captain of T20 against Kiwis, team announced, these veterans gave rest

A few days after the T20 World Cup, India has to play a 3-match T20 series against the Kiwi team at home and for this the T20 team of Team India has been announced. Even before this, the round of speculation had started. Many changes are believed to have originated in Indian cricket and have been made. Rohit Sharma has been selected as the captain in limited overs for the T20 International series against New Zealand. Sharma may possibly be handed over the captaincy of the Indian team for the first Test against New Zealand.

Current Indian captain Virat Kohli will miss the first Test and will join the squad for the second Test in Mumbai. Kohli has also been rested for the entire T20 International series against the Black Caps. Current vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will continue to be the vice-captain despite his poor performance against England. KL Rahul has been made the vice-captain for the T20 series. Jaipur, Ranchi and Kolkata will host the first three T20 Internationals and two Test matches will be played in Kanpur and Mumbai, the series will be determined by two Test matches.

Some veteran players including Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have been rested for the T20 International series. And some of the best IPL performers have been included in the Indian T20 team. The first name that came into the limelight is Harshal Patel, the Purple Cap holder who was an exceptional performer in the IPL in the last two seasons but was ruled out of the T20 World Cup. Shreyas Iyer, who was not a member of the T20 squad earlier, is back. Deepak and Rahul Chahar have also been included in the group. Instead a surprising name has also been added to the squad, which is none other than Venkatesh Iyer, Kolkata’s top performer as an all-rounder.

India T20 squad: Rohit Sharma (capt), KL Rahul (vice captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Venkatesh Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, R Ashwin, Axar Patel, Avesh Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Harshal Patel, Mohd. Siraj.
