New Delhi. Former Chief Ministers of Jammu and Kashmir will no longer get Special Protection Group security. An order has been issued by the Home Department of Jammu and Kashmir in this regard. However, Farooq Abdullah and Ghulam Nabi Azad will continue to get the protection of the National Security Guard. Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti will continue to get Z-plus security. Explain that this move will remove the SSG protection to Farooq Abdullah, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti. After which now all these people will be at par with other politically protected people.

Let us inform that after this change, now in place of SSG, there will be security personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police in their security. * SPG security to PM
While the Chief Ministers get SSG security, the Prime Minister of the country is given SPG security. Till two years ago, this protection was also given to former prime ministers and their closest relatives. But after the amendment in the SPG Act, it was limited to the Prime Minister.
Decision to close SSG
The SSG Act was amended after the scrapping of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Officials say that the SSG will now be entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the serving Chief Ministers and their family members. In fact, the administration of the Union Territory has decided to close the SSG established in 2000.
Officials informed that some of the SSG personnel will be deployed in the security wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police for the “disgusting security forces”. While the remaining SSG personnel are likely to be posted in other wings. This will enable the police force to get the best out of training and knowledge. Explain that vehicles and other gadgets will be transferred to the security wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
