Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan did his upcoming film Chehre for free. He did not charge any of his international travel expenses for the shooting of the film. Chehre filmmaker Anand Pandit revealed this in an interview.
In the interview, the producer said that for tax reasons, Amitabh Bachchan has been credited for his ‘friendly appearance’ in the film. Responding to a question about Amitabh Bachchan not charging a single penny for the face, Anand Pandit told Peepingmoon, “To avoid any hassle while filing the tax book, we decided to give friendly appearance credit to Amit ji. Sir was so professional and committed that he even invests his own money for commuting. In a recent interview about the film, The mystery-thriller directed by Rumi Jaffrey talked about casting Amitabh with a leading daily. He said, “After we concluded about Amitabh Bachchan in Chehre, we started looking for other actors. I was looking for another lead and Emraan fit the character I had envisioned. Never worked with him before, I had heard a lot about him in the industry. Talking about professionalism, he is really like Amit ji.” Jafri added, “When I approached him with Chehre, he too fell in love with his character and was happy to be on board. Emraan’s work turned out to be even better than I expected.”
The film also stars Emraan Hashmi, Krystle D’Souza, Rhea Chakraborty and others. After facing several delays due to the coronavirus pandemic, the film will hit the theaters on Friday. Big B has a plethora of films. These include Jhund, Brahmastra, Mayday and Alvida, a remake of The Intern.
