New Delhi: The government has started giving financial help to those who lost their lives from Corona. The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India told the Supreme Court on 22 September that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has provided a compensation of Rs 50,000 to the families of those who lost their lives due to corona infection. Under this compensation, the concerned family will have to apply to the concerned District Disaster Officer by attaching the beneficiary’s Kovid-19 death certificate, Aadhar card, bank account information.
According to the instructions given to the state governments, the families of those who lost their lives due to corona infection will be given financial assistance from the State Disaster Response Fund and payment will be made through the District Disaster Management Officer. In case of financial assistance, the documents of the person concerned like Kovid-19 death certificate, copy of Aadhar card etc. will have to be handed over to the disaster management officer of the district. The amount of financial assistance will be released within 30 days and the money will be deposited in the Aadhaar linked bank account.
According to the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Central Government, now many states have issued notification on financial assistance, applications are being sought from the people through the concerned District Disaster Management Officer. Compensation has also been announced in Punjab and district magistrates have been asked to submit the details of the families of the deceased by October 15.
