Chris Morris, the most expensive player in IPL history, retires from all forms of cricket


Sports Desk. South African all-rounder Chris Morris on Tuesday announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. All-rounder cricketer Morris has thanked everyone who contributed to his career. Morris will now serve as the coach of the domestic cricket team Titans.


34-year-old Chris Morris made his international debut in 2012 and played his last match for South Africa in the 2019 ODI World Cup. Right-arm fast bowler and explosive batsman Chris Morris has played 4 Tests, 42 ODIs and 23 T20 Internationals for South Africa. Morris has scored 459, 1756 and 697 runs in Test, ODI and T20 International respectively. He has also taken 12, 48 and 34 wickets.

Morris has made a lot of headlines among Indian fans by playing IPL. He has played in IPL for Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2021 auction for Rs 16.25 crore, which makes him the most expensive player in IPL history. Sharing the news of his retirement on his Instagram handle, Morris wrote, “From today (January 12) I announce my retirement from all forms of cricket!
