New Delhi: Indraprastha Gas Limited has once again increased the prices of CNG and PNG. This is the second time in 10 days that gas prices have been hiked. The new prices are effective from 13 October i.e. today. Earlier, the price hike was done on October 2. This was the fifth time this year that the prices of CNG and PNG were hiked.
According to Indraprastha Gas Limited, CNG and PNG have become costlier by more than two rupees in the capital Delhi from today. CNG will be available at Rs 49.76 per kg and PNG at Rs 35.11 per scm. At the same time, CNG will be available at Rs 56.02 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad and Rs 58.20 per kg in Gurugram. However, coming to PNG, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad will cost Rs 34.86 per SCM and Rs 33.31 in Gurugram.
The prices of CNG and PNG were hiked on October 4 last year. At that time, the price of CNG in the capital Delhi was Rs 42.70 per kg and that of PNG was Rs 27.50 per scm. In Delhi-NCR, most of the trains, buses, taxis and autos run on CNG. According to IGL, CNG is much cheaper than petrol and diesel. The operating cost of CNG-powered vehicles is 66 per cent less than petrol and 28 per cent less than diesel.
