BHUBANESWAR: Left parties in Odisha staged a train roko agitation at Bhubaneswar railway station on Thursday morning against the hike in petrol and diesel prices across the country. The Left parties have called for a curfew in the state from 6 am to 12 noon (6 hours) in protest against the ever-increasing petroleum products.
Meanwhile, the Left parties appealed to the people of the state not to buy petrol, diesel and domestic gas. The effect of curfew has been seen in all the districts of Odisha. In the state-wide demonstration that lasted for 6 hours, leaders and workers of CPI, CPI(M), CPI(M), CPI(M) protested at intersections in the state and raised slogans against the central government and the state government. Left parties in the state protested against the prices of petrol and diesel by burning tires on the road in several districts.
