New Delhi: Checkbook and MICR code of three banks are going to be invalid from October 1. These banks include Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC), United Bank of India and Allahabad Bank. Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India were merged with Punjab National Bank (PNB) on April 1, 2020.
Now both are PNB everything from the customer to the branch of the bank. Allahabad Bank has been merged with Indian Bank. This merger came into force on April 1, 2020. Indian Bank said in a recent tweet that the erstwhile Allahabad Bank code and check book MICR will be valid only till September 30, 2021. Consumers should get a new check book before October 1, 2021. , to continue banking transactions without any interruption.
According to Indian Bank, customers can get the new check book from the nearest branch. Apart from this, they can also apply through Internet Banking or Mobile Banking. PNB tweeted, “Old checkbooks of Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and United Bank of India (UBI) will become invalid with effect from 1st October 2021. Please replace old check book of OBC and UBI with new check book of PNB. This check book will be PNB K will come with updated IFSC code and mIRC.
