New Delhi: State Bank of India (SBI) has issued an alert to its crores of customers in a tweet from its official Twitter handle. According to the alert, customers have been asked to link their PAN and Aadhaar before 30 September 2021. Otherwise, customers will not be able to avail the banking facility and they may have to pay a late fee.

Actually, the government had fixed 30 June 2021 as the deadline for linking Aadhaar and PAN. In view of the increasing number of cases of the second wave of corona, it has been extended till 30 September 2021. SBI has now clarified that people will now have to link their Aadhaar and PAN card to avail the banking facility. At present, if the Aadhaar card and PAN card are not linked, the customer may have to pay a fine. If PAN card is inactive, then Rs. late fee. 1000 has to be paid to activate it. In case of inactivation of PAN card, your card will not be considered as a quote. As a result, the customer can be fined up to Rs 10,000 under section 272B of the Income Tax Act.

Let us tell you that if a person does not link his Aadhaar and PAN card before September 30, 2021, then his PAN card will become inactive. This can deprive him of many banking facilities. Instead of getting upset in this situation, it would be right for everyone to link their Aadhar and PAN card.

How to link Aadhaar with PAN while sitting at home
To link your Aadhar and PAN card, first of all go to the Income Tax Return e-filing website Where you will get the option to link Aadhaar after logging in. After this you have to enter your Aadhar and PAN card number. After sometime your Aadhar and PAN card will be linked.
