Veteran actress Meenu Mumtaz, who won everyone’s heart with her beauty and acting in Bollywood, has passed away. At the age of 79, he has bid farewell to the world. He died in Canada and his brother Anwar Ali has given information about this. In fact, he thanked the film world, press, media, fans, friends for showering love on the menu. Meenu Mumtaz was the sister of Bollywood superstar and comedian Mehmood.
She was born on 26 April 1942 and took dance training since childhood. Actually Mehmood’s entire family was associated with films and that is why Meenu also appeared in films. He worked in the films of Devika Rani. It was Devika Rani who hired Meenu as a dancer in Bombay Talkies. Meenu started her career with the film ‘Ghar Ghar Mein Diwali’. The film was released in the year 1955 and played the role of a village dancer in the film. But the film could not bring much success to Meenu. Meenu got her real identity from the film ‘Sakhi Hatim’. She played the role of a mermaid in the film.
She then had an on-screen romance with brother Mehmood in the 1958 film ‘Howrah Bridge’ and the audience was highly critical of the brother and sister romance on screen. By the way, Meenu has mostly teamed up with comedian Johnnie Walker. She married director Syed Ali Akbar in 1963. Meenu Mumtaz had a tumour, but she was cured when she was operated upon. She had gone to Canada after that but died on Saturday morning.
