Best time to take covid-19 booster 6 months after second dose

Date:

New Delhi, India: The best time for a booster dose is six months after receiving the second dose of coronavirus vaccination, Dr. Krishna Ella, Founder and Managing Director, Bharat Biotech said on Wednesday. However, he said the government would make the final choice.

Following the completion of Covaxin by Bharat Biotech, the Phase 2 trial for the nasal vaccine has been completed and the data is being analysed, he said. Ella suggested that the nasal COVID vaccine could be used in place of a second dose of covaccine or to protect those who are already ill. Compared to an injectable vaccination that does not reach the upper lungs, the nasal vaccine was more successful in staving off disease, he said, and a vaccination could eliminate the need for a person to continue wearing a mask.

According to Ella, Bharat Biotech is the only firm in the world that has conducted clinical trials on children in the age group of 2 to 18 years. Ella also discussed the difficulties faced by the WHO in getting Covaxin approved at the Times Now Summit 2021. He said he had 5 vaccines that were pre-qualified by the World Health Organization “so we knew exactly what to do and how to accomplish it. However, there are many unfavorable media persons who have spoken about a death in Bhopal.” Wrote scientific publications to inquire. It resulted in suicide, but was attributed to the vaccine”.
