All the major automakers in the country witnessed a huge increase in the sales of automobiles during the festive season. Two new models are going to be launched in the Indian market this week. Tata Motors will debut the Ziptron-powered Tigor EV on August 31, while the i20 N line, a sportier version of the i20, will debut on September 2.
Ahead of its formal introduction, the new Tata Tigor EV has started arriving at dealerships. Select retailers have already taken reservations for the electric car at a nominal price of Rs 21,000. Mechanically, the upcoming Ziptron-powered Tata Tigor EV packs a 26kWh lithium-ion battery pack with IP67 rating and 74bhp and 170Nm of peak torque. Furthermore, the upgraded Tigor EV supports CCS2 charging and can take power from a 15A outlet to zero to 80 percent charge in about 8.5 hours. It also has fast charging capability, with a charge time of less than 60 minutes from zero to 80%.
Hyundai recently unveiled the i20 N lineup with sporty highlights inspired by the WRC. This time around, the company will officially announce the prices of the i20 N line. The upcoming model will be sold through Hyundai Signature dealerships and interested customers can book the vehicle for a token amount of Rs 25,000. Some distinctive exterior highlights come in the form of a checkered flag-inspired front grille, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with the N logo and red callipers on the disc brakes. The front skid plate and side sill garnish have Athletic Red highlights (silver highlights for the red exterior).
