Piaggio has announced the launch of the 75th edition of the Vespa scooters in the Indian market for ₹1.26 Lakh (125cc) and ₹1.39 Lakh (150cc). Both prices, ex-showroom Pune. Bookings for both the new scooters have already started on the company’s official website and authorized dealerships.
The new limited edition Vespa scooters are celebrating the 75th anniversary of Vespa. These scooters get a unique ‘Glossy Metallic Giallo’ color scheme along with ‘Dark Smoke Grey’ seats. In addition to the new colours, the scooters also get a ‘Welcome Kit’ which consists of a bag with collectible postcards and a vintage Vespa sign.
A limited number of ’75’ decals are also found on the side panels of the scooter. These decals can also be found on the front bumper and glovebox of both the scooters. Other visual highlights of the models include a retractable chrome rack that appears to be a spare wheel carrier. Apart from this, the scooter also gets a machined finish on the windscreen and wheels.
Under the special 75th edition livery, the scooter retains its original features and mechanical technical characteristics. While the smaller 125cc model makes 9.93hp of power at 7,500rpm and 9.6Nm at 5,500rpm, the larger-capacity 125 cc scooter makes 10.4hp of power at 7,600rpm and 10.6Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. Or braking, both the scooters use a 200 mm disc at the front and a 140 mm drum at the rear. The smaller 125cc model comes with the safety net of CBS, while the larger model gets ABS.
