Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is gearing up to launch new special editions of Activa and Dio scooters in India ahead of the festive season in 2021. The type approval paperwork with Delhi RTO has revealed new information.
The Honda Activa 6G will be available in two updated versions, while the Dio scooter will be available in four new models. The 109.51cc single-cylinder engine will be used in both the models. In the Activa 6G, this powertrain will produce 7.68hp at 8,000rpm and 8.79Nm at 5,250rpm, while the Dio’s engine will produce 7.65hp at 8,000rpm and 9Nm at 4,750rpm.
The Activa will be available in two variants, as per the type approval document: Activa 6G and Activa 6G LED. As the name indicates, one of the trims may feature an all-LED system. Also, the business may introduce new components like alloy wheels to replace the older Activa 6G, which has only steel wheels. The new Dio will be available in four different versions. According to the new document, the Dio with composite cast wheels, a digital speedometer, composite cast wheel and 3D emblem, and digital speedometer and 3D symbol are among the scooter’s variations. For comparison, the Repsol Honda version of the scooter is currently the only one with alloy wheels.
The new Honda scooter versions are expected to launch in the next week, just in time for the 2021 holiday season. More details will be available before the launch of the scooter.
