After the introduction of the new Raider 125, TVS Motor Company is all set to unveil a new scooter on October 7. While the business is silent about the new launch, we have reason to think that the new two-wheeler will be a 125cc scooter, most likely the Jupiter 125. If the rumors are correct, then the new Jupiter 125 will rival the likes of Honda Activa 125, Hero Maestro Edge 125 and Suzuki Access 125 in this segment.

The invite for the company’s next two-wheeler includes the slogan “Come and experience more”, which may indicate that consumers will get “more” of everything with the Jupiter 125, such as power, torque and features. . The two-wheeler company has also released a teaser picture showing the LED DRLs of the vehicle. These DRLs can be mounted on the front apron of the scooter. A 124.8 cc single-cylinder fuel-injected motor sourced from the NTorq 125 could be at the core of the upcoming scooter. At 7,000 rpm, this engine produces 9.1 bhp and 10.5 Nm of peak torque, while at 5,500 rpm it produces 10.5 Nm of peak torque. The engine is connected to a CVT transmission.

The upcoming Jupiter 125 is expected to come with TVS Connect mobile app with capabilities like a digital screen, external fuel filling, quiet start and navigation assist, top speed recorder, in-built lap-timer and more.

TVS Motor Company’s Joint Managing Director Sudarshan Venu had earlier told PTI about the potential of the 125 cc segment in India. “In the motorbike category, the 125 cc segment has grown at a CAGR of over 20% in the last five years. We are looking at this market. TVS has a strong position in the U.S. and plans to capitalize on innovations. This is a profitable segment as well as a potential growth area.”
