New Delhi: The country’s leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki India has remodeled 1.81 lakh vehicles. The company on Friday issued a recall order to find out potential flaws in its 5-model petrol engine variants. Maruti Suzuki says that there could be a fault in the petrol engine of its Ciaz, Vitara Brezza, S-Cross, Ertiga and XL6 models. This may endanger the safety of the car. Therefore, the company will examine 1.81 lakh cars of these models and if they are found to be defective then they will be rectified.
According to media reports, the company said in its press release that these 5 models of cars manufactured between 4 May 2018 to 27 October 2020 may have these flaws. They are likely to malfunction only in the petrol engine variants as well. The company has said that after the return of these cars, their ‘motor generator unit’ will be checked. If any defects are found, the company will replace them at no cost or money.
Maruti Suzuki has said that the exercise to recall these cars will start from the first month of November. Till then, the company has prohibited driving these cars in waterlogged areas and spraying water directly on the electrical and electronic parts of these cars.
