Triumph Motorcycles will launch the new Speed Twin motorcycle in the Indian market. The launch will take place on August 31. The new Speed Twin is already available in the international markets and has now been listed on Triumph’s India website ahead of its launch.
Riders can pre-book the new Speed Twin. The bike can be booked online on the company’s official website or at an authorized dealership. The new bike comes with many updated features and mechanical changes. While the makers have made some major updates on the engine, suspension setup and braking hardware, the exterior styling remains more or less the same. The new bike is powered by the same 1,200cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. This is a Euro 5/BS6-compliant engine that is known to produce 98.6bhp of maximum power at 7,250rpm and 112Nm of peak torque. For the record, the first motorcycle made 96bhp.
The company also uses 43mm Marzocchi upside-down front forks which now get cartridge dumping. The unit is supported by preload-adjustable twin-sided springs at the rear. The Brembo M50 will take care of the 320mm twin disc calipers at the front and 220mm single rotor braking setup with Nissin-sourced calipers at the rear. Three color options are expected to be launched in India – Red Hopper, Matte Storm Gray and Jet Black. The new 2021 model is likely to be slightly costlier than the previous model. Its price can be somewhere in the starting range of ₹ 10-11 lakhs.
