Army Day: World’s largest Khadi tricolor will be hoisted on Indo-Pak border today

Today is Army Day and today the national flag ‘Tricolor’ made of Khadi will be unfurled at the Indo-Pakistan border in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Yes, let us tell you that this tricolor will be displayed in Longewala, which was the main center of the historic war between India and Pakistan in 1971. The tricolor is 225 feet long and 150 feet wide. Similarly, if we talk about its weight, then its weight is 1400 kg. According to the information received, it took 49 days for 70 Khadi artisans to prepare the flag. Let us tell you that the construction of the memorial national flag has given 3500 hours of extra work to the Khadi artisans and laborers.

On the other hand, 4500 meters of hand cut and hand woven khadi cotton flag plates have been used to make this flag covering a total area of ​​33,750 square feet. The diameter of the Ashoka Chakra in this flag is about 30 feet. Let us tell you that on October 2, 2021, the tricolor was unveiled in Leh. This is followed by the 5th flag made by Khadi for public display. The second tricolor was then displayed on the occasion of Air Force Day on 8 October 2021 at Hindon Airbase and then on 21 October 2021 at Red Fort. Yes, and on the same day, the figure of 100 crore vaccination doses was reached in India.

Let us also tell you that to celebrate Navy Day on 4 December 2021, the national flag was unfurled at the Naval Dockyard near the entrance of India in Mumbai. Let us tell you that the tricolor is a symbol of the collective spirit of Indianness and the statue of Khadi’s heritage and this tricolor has been prepared by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission on the completion of 75 years of independence under the ‘Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav’.
