Ingredients For Besan Chilla

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tomato (finely chopped)
  • 1 green chili (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Water (as required)
  • 1 tsp oil or ghee for cooking

Preparation Steps

  1. Make the Batter: In a mixing bowl, add gram flour, turmeric, cumin, and salt. Gradually add water and whisk well to form a smooth, lump-free batter.
  2. Add Vegetables: Mix in chopped onion, tomato, chilly and coriander leaves. Stir well.
  3. Heat the Pan: Place a non-stick pan on medium flame and grease it with a few drops of oil or ghee.
  4. Cook the Chilla: Pour a ladle of batter on the pan and spread it gently like a pancake.
  5. Flip and Cook: Once golden on one side, flip and cook the other side until crisp and cooked through.
  6. Serve Hot: Enjoy your Besan Chilla with green chutney, curd, or tomato ketchup.
