In view of the huge festive rush, Indian Railways has announced a special Vande Bharat Express between Delhi and Patna. This high-speed special train will run from October 11 to November 17, 2025, providing convenient and fast travel for millions of passengers. Under this initiative, Northern Railways is operating several Vande Bharat Festival Special trains connecting major cities during the festive season.
Operation Schedule
To manage the festive travel rush around Diwali and Chhath Puja, the Patna–New Delhi–Patna Vande Bharat Special will operate for a limited period. Train No. 02253 will run from Patna to New Delhi starting October 11 till November 17, 2025. It will operate three days a week—on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays. For the return journey, Train No. 02254 from New Delhi to Patna will run from October 12 to November 16, 2025, on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. In total, this train will make 16 trips in each direction, easing festive crowd pressure.
Timings and Travel Duration
The Patna–New Delhi Vande Bharat (Train No. 02253) will depart from Patna Junction at 10:00 AM and reach New Delhi at 11:30 PM, taking 13 hours and 30 minutes. Meanwhile, the New Delhi–Patna Vande Bharat (Train No. 02254) will leave New Delhi at 08:35 AM and arrive in Patna at 09:30 PM, completing the journey in 12 hours and 55 minutes. The train is designed for faster connectivity, saving passengers valuable travel time during festivals.

Key Stoppages
For the convenience of travelers, the Vande Bharat Special will halt at important stations on its route. These include Ara, Buxar, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction (via Mirzapur), Prayagraj Junction, Kanpur Central, and Aligarh Junction. The selected route ensures smooth travel and easy accessibility for passengers boarding from multiple cities.
Train Configuration and Comfort
This special service will feature a 20-coach Vande Bharat rake, offering modern design and enhanced comfort. Each coach has been designed for high-speed stability and passenger safety. Comfortable seating, automatic doors, LED lighting, onboard Wi-Fi, and digital displays are among the features provided for a seamless journey.
