This film may not have rocked the box office on the first day, but its content is slowly making its place in the hearts of the audience.
Strong star cast, but ticket sales remained stagnant
The film has a strong cast like Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkana Sen Sharma, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh, yet on the opening day, it recorded sales of only 81.66 thousand tickets on BMS (Book My Show). On the other hand, Kajol’s film Maa performed better than this with 86.72 thousand tickets on the first day.
Competition from Hollywood films and limited promotion became the reason
On one hand, big Hollywood films like Jurassic World and F1 rocked the theatres, on the other hand, Metro in Dino could not get the expected success on the opening day due to limited promotion and targeting a specific audience.
Beat 11 Bollywood films
Although it could not make it to the list of top 10 opening ticket sales, Metro in Dino beat 11 Bollywood films released in 2025. These include films like The Diplomat, Fateh, Badaas Ravi Kumar, Mera Husband Ki Biwi, and Superboys of Malegaon.
