TVS Motor Company is launching its new 125cc scooter in the Indian market (Thursday) on 7 October. While the company is yet to reveal the name of its next product, prior spy images indicate that it will be the Jupiter 125 scooter.
The scooter was also teased a few days back by the Hosur-based automaker. The teaser image shows the LED DRLs that could be mounted on the apron of the two-front wheeler. The company hasn’t released any technical details about the new two-wheeler, but the scooter is expected to use the same engine and platform as the existing NTorq 125. Apart from this, the company may give a new mechanical setup to its bigger Jupiter but the details are not yet official.
The Jupiter 125 will be launched with an aim to cement the company’s position in the 125cc category, which is rising to prominence in the country. TVS Motor recently announced the launch of its new Raider 125 motorbike in India, which is yet another product to showcase the company’s commitment to this category.
Needless to say, the company will almost certainly provide the new Jupiter 125 with a myriad of features to make it more competitive with the rivals in the segment. The details of the next features are likewise kept secret. The Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125 will be direct competitors to the Jupiter 125 in 2021. When launched, it is likely to be placed in the ₹75,000 to ₹81,000 (ex-showroom) bracket.
